In the 1890s students came from families with well-known Pleasant Valley names such as: Johnson, Moore, Blackwell, Atchley, Parkhill, Larowe, Hunter, Wambaugh, Leigh, and Hart. The teacher is probably either Miss Mai Fleming or Miss Elizabeth (Lizzie) May Reed.

The children in this photo have not been identified but it is clear that a number of them appear in the ca 1910 photo.  The teacher is still Mr. Charles Olmstead.  Note that the US Flag is mounted backwards.  This does not appear to be a printing error since Mr. Olmstead is shown in both photos with his hair parted on the same sie.
