Saturday, April 29 | 10:00–4:00Children's Craft: Flower Pincushion (11:00–3:00) Take a plunge into the history of American fashion from 1776 to 1976! Fashionable figures from New Jersey history will walk the runway during a unique program held inside the beautiful English-style barn that adjoins the Howell Farm visitor center. Interpreters will give us a brief history of the materials, time period and people who wore each outfit. Antique garments from the farm's collection will also be on display in the barn.
11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. performances will feature costumed interpreters from more than a dozen New Jersey historic sites, reenactment units, and museums – as well as live music, narrated character presentations, and opportunities to meet and take photographs with performers.
Admission to Howell Farm and seating for the fashion show are free, but space is limited for each performance. When pre-registrations are full, a limited number of seats will be made available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. Wagon rides, food, and a children’s craft program will also be offered for sale at the farm from 11:00 to 3:00. |
